Annual Awards Presentation Evening
23rd January 2010 |
Wolverhampton & District Auto Club held their annual presentation evening on Saturday 23rd January at the Goodyear Pavilion Club, Wolverhampton.
A large gathering of riders, family and friends enjoyed a superb three-course meal followed by the annual presentation of trophies. A good social evening was had by all. |
The trophies were presented by AMCA MX1 Championship rider Brad O’Leary, with Chairman Mike Penn doing a great job compering for the evening, despite a few heckles from the Palmer clan.
The committee would like to thank everyone associated with the club for their fantastic support and hard work and look forward to continued success in 2010.

Preparations for 2010 well underway |
After running five meetings this year, including the Sidecar IMBA and five Championship rounds, Wolverhampton Club members decided that it was time for a total strip down of the Cleobury Mortimer track to maintain the ground for next year whilst the weather was still kind. Another digger has been bought which meant that two machines could re-build the jumps and bring in the soil which was displaced around the Hungry Hill circuit whilst the bulldozer was used to level the ground out. |
While this went on, all of the circuit was broken up to a depth of twelve inches or more and a hired in stone crusher was used to bring the ground into tip-top stone-less condition.
On completion all ground works were re-seeded to protect and settle over winter. Wolverhampton have had a successful season this year and thanks its sponsors, members and helpers who continue to drive the club in its quest for success.
The club has acquired some useful equipment this year including the already mentioned extra digger, a hospitality unit, radios, results monitor, the list goes on.
Members enjoyed a free entry at our last meeting of the season as a token of the Wolverhampton Committee’s thanks.
With the support of our landowner and our hard-working members, we are already planning for a successful 2010, we hope that our efforts continue to please visitors and riders alike. |
