Welcome to Shobdon & District MCC's new Website

Shobdon & District MCC played host to the third round of the AMCA 2-stroke Championship on Sunday 29th June, with Stratford Pyramid’s Si White taking the overall after a hard fought battle with Nick Batcock and Justin Bolton.  It was a Dobson double in the MX2 Experts with Jamie Dobson taking the overall, just a point in front of brother Darren.  In the MX1 Experts, Gary Davies held Jamie Powell at bay, taking two out of three for the overall.

As usual, Shobdon put on a first class meeting.  The track was in tip-top condition and dust was kept at bay by intermittent showers throughout the day.

Always looking at ways to make the track more interesting, the start had been moved to the opposite side of the track giving a shorter straight section leading into a tight left hand bend.

The meeting ran like clockwork and the standard of racing was top notch.  With one of the most spectacular table-top jumps in the AMCA, spectators were treated to some serious aerobatics throughout the day.

The 2-stroke Championship kicked off the day’s proceedings. A trio of riders battled it out all day but it was Simon White who took the overall, with two wins out of three.

Third place went to Nick Batcock who took the win in the opener, but was pipped to second in the final two motos by Justin Bolton, who had three good consistent rides.

In the MX1 Experts, Jamie Powell took the win in the opener closely followed by Gary Davies.  Davies however went on to take the next two wins convincingly taking the overall, with Powell a close second on both occasions.  Matt Gordon took the final place despite a no score in the first race.

Jamie Dobson took the overall in the MX2 Experts, taking the first two wins, with brother Darren just a point behind in second after taking a superb win in the final moto.  Sean Tranter had three good rides to take the third spot.

Richard Millar took the honours in the first Seniors Unlimited Group with two wins out of three under his belt.

Second place went to Darren Evans and third to Thomas Herbert, who took the win the opening moto, bumping up his points score.

he second Seniors Unlimited Group saw Shrewsbury’s Lee Beck cruise home for the overall with two great wins.  Adam Jones took second spot and enjoyed a great battle with Beck in the second moto, which he led until Beck took him in the closing laps.  Rob Shelton took the final place.

om Hamer took the overall in the Juniors Unlimited Group One despite loosing out to second place Steven Owen in the final moto, with the final place going to Roger Lovatt. Marc Hatfield took the overall in the second Juniors Group, with James Whitfield in second and Terry Whitehouse in third.

Liam Jones took the Inter Juniors by storm, taking maximum points with Jack Tompkins in second and Toby Owen in third.

Yet another great event at a great venue from Shobdon & District MCC. Well done!
