Coalville at Coleorton
31st October 2010
I made my way to the track on Saturday afternoon with my new 450 Suzuki on board. I was looking forward to riding my new bike and hoped the weather would be kind!

Sunday morning came round and the rain had held off but the track was a little wet from the previous weeks weather. I got myself ready for practice and took it steady running the bike in. The suzuki was awesome and has so much power compared to my old 2 stroke! I felt good and was hoping for a good days results.

I decided to let everyone go off the start in the first race as the bike was still not run in. I slowly started working my way through the pack and managed to finish a comfortable 8th place.

The second race i went for the start and came round in the top ten. I kept my head down and picked a few riders off and got myself into 7th place were i finished.

The last race of the day was interesting as my gate didn't drop so i had a poor start and really had to get my head down. I quickly caught up with Tony Severn and managed to pass him but i fell off in the next corner, throwing all my efforts away! I quickly got back on and put chase to Tony Severn, i passed him again and finished 6th place.

Overall i finished 5th which i was really pleased with as it was the first outing on the new bike. Hopefully next year i can keep the good results up and maybe get on the podium a few more times.
Potteries at Sandback
26th September 2010
It was the last round off the 2 stroke championship this week and we all made our way up to the track. I was hoping for some better results this time to finish the championship off. The track looked good and was all graded well.

We were second practise out and i just tried to find some good lines for the racing. My bike felt a bit funny so after a quick check back at the van, we found the rear wheel bearings shot! So a change of rear wheel and i was set for racing.

The racing was fast all day and i posted a 7th, 9th and 7th score card giving me 6th overall on the day. I was pleased with this. I almost took the holeshot in the last race but was just beat!

The amount off riders in this championship this year has been a big disappointment so i won't be doing it next year. I may consider a shot at the normal championship but i will see. My bike is now for sale, if anyone is interested give me a call on 07989 350997.
Cannock at Abbotts Bromley
5th September 2010
We made our way to the track on Saturday and set up camp after a few laps off the paddock! The track was being run the other way round from usual and i was looking forward to the change.

The track received a heavy watering both Saturday night and Sunday morning and was very muddy for practise. We were first out and it was heavy going so i just took it steady and tried to get used to the track the other way round.

We wasn't out till the 5th race so i knew the track would be better than practise. I got off to a good start and was running about 5th but i was struggling as the bike felt down on power due to the clutch slipping. I pushed on but lost a couple off places and finished 7th.

I stripped the bike after the race and replaced the damaged parts and got set for race two. I started well again and was running 4th, and then disaster struck again and my front brake lever come loose causing me to lose the front brake. I knew i was going to lose places and i dropped back lap after lap to finish 8th.

With another repair to the bike i was determined to have a better last race. My start was poor this time and i made it hard work for myself! I eventually started picking riders off and made my way up to 8th place were i finished.

I finshed the day 6th overall which i was pleased with but i felt it could of been better if i hadn't had my fair share of problems.
Hereford at Bromyard
15th August 2010
We were riding at Bromyard this week at the 2 stroke championship so it was just me, Jo, Bradley and Dad. We got there Saturday and set up camp and i went for a look at the track. We had never been here before and i was quite impressed. The track looked very fast and had all the features you could ask for, I couldn't wait!

I was first practise and the track had been watered so i took it steady and tried to learn the track. But with only 2 laps free practice and 10mins timed, it was difficult. I ended up 15th fastest but wasn't worried as i hadn't really pushed myself.

We were first race and i knew i needed a good start. We started and i was midpack but quickly passed a few riders and settled down into a good pace. A crash from two riders gifted me and i rode home in 10th place.

The second start wasn't so good and i was determined to better my earlier result. I tried really hard and made lots of passes but could only manage 10th again at the finish.

The third race was a whole different story, i gated good and was running 7th for 2 laps till i got a rear puncture!! I continued on but was finding it really difficult on the now polished track. I started lossing places and ended up 10th again but i knew i would've had a better result if it wasn't for the dam puncture.

Overall i finished 10th and i was really pleased with this. The track was brilliant and i would like to ride there again if the chance arises.

Burntwood at Branston
1st August 2010
Me and the family made our way up to Branston the weekend for the IMBA meeting. I was looking forward to this meeting and couldn't wait! The track had been prepped well and watering was taking place when we arrived. The track was going to be run backwards as it has all year.

I'm not so keen on it this way round but it is still enjoyable. We were able to park up the top of the paddock thanks to a bit off barta, which is always good as there is less walking! The Pikey squad turned up later aka Jack Vincent and co and invaded our camp but we all had a good night including maundy and his new lady friend!

Racing got underway Sunday and was all running to time. The british lads did us proud in the IMBA well done! I also had a good days racing and pushed hard all day to finish 4th overall with a 6th, 6th, 4th scorecard. I was well pleased with this result and only just missed out on a trophy! Well done to Andy Marchant for taking first overall, a good step in the right direction mate!

Well we was all done at a resonable time and i thought the meeting ran really well, although it would've been better the other way round! Well Done.
Wolverhampton at Hungry Hill
18th July 2010
My own clubs meeting this week and we were working at the track Thursday and conditions were looking good. With the rainfall we had, i was looking forward to a break from watering but Mike Penn insisted we put some water down just incase.

Practice got underway on Sunday and the watering was the right choice but we still had dust. So we finished practice and got watering for the last time for the weekend.

The rest of the day ran like clockwork and we all had long races and still finished at about 5.00ish.

I didn't have the best of days results wise and also had to ride J Dubs bike for the last one due to a puncture on my own bike, cheers Jase!

I enjoyed a good race with Lee Bayley on the big 4 stroke and just managed to pass him at the latter part of the race.

Overall, i finished the day in 16th which wasn't the best but i enjoyed the day and the club can all be proud of the day for their achievements. Well done.
Burton at Stenson
11th July 2010
Well, after a break from doing my website, I'm back and will be updating weekly.

Me and my family made our way to Stenson this week and the weather was very good. The club were hard at work watering and preparing the track ready for Sunday.

I was first practise and the track was quite muddy due to watering but it was ok. We had the track watered again for our first race which was a bit off a bummer but someone has to have it!

As a result of the watering, i struggled a little and had to settle for 13th position.

My other two races were better and i nearly had the holeshot in the second one but was just beat to the first corner!

Reggie gave me a good run for my money in the last race and would of beat me if he had of kept it on two wheels! I rounded the day off in 7th overall with a 13th, 7th and 7th.

I enjoyed the day and had some good races with friends.

Next week it's our own meeting and i'm looking forward to it, also Jack Vincent should be upgraded to expert so i will be looking forward to a rub with him!

2 Stroke Championship Hawkstone Park
3rd May 2010

We made the trip to Hawkstone on Saturday afternoon and set up camp. The track was looking good, ready for Sundays action and i wasn't riding. Saturday night saw some heavy rainfall which was a blessing as the track was prime Sunday morning.

We enjoyed watching the first round off the MX1 & MX2 championship and gave Andy Marchant some support and help with the bike.

The track was graded Sunday night ready for the next day and was looking good.

Practice
I was first out today and it was a timed practice for a gate pick. I was rubbish and could only manage 31st gate pick. But i wasn't worried as i knew it could all be different in the races. The track was good but in true Hawkstone style, very tough.

Race One
Not a bad start considering the gate pick i had. I come round about midpack, but did stuggle and fell back quite a bit. The track was better than it was in practice and i did find some good lines. I managed to claw back some positions and finished 20th.

Race Two
I had a slightly better start this time but got cut off in the first corner so i was down the pack again. I didn't worry and thought it's a long race, I can make it up! I started working my way through and was up to 19th place when the race was red flagged. We had done most off the race though so there was no re-run. The red flag was for the air ambulance to land!

Race Three
There would only be us and the Veterans getting a third race due to the time. I gated about the same again, but the track was now very rough. I tried hard to keep going but did fatigue in the latter part off the race and finished in 20th place. There was another crash in our race and the air ambulance was required again!

Overall i finished 18th in the first round off the 2 stroke championship which was ok. The day wasn't to good and did seem to take a long time but we got three races unlike everyone else.
Walsall at Hobs Hole 18/04/10
We made our way up to the Hobs Hole circuit saturday afternoon to enjoy some sunshine! The track looked very dry but in good shape. With plenty off water on the way, i did think it would be good.

Practice
We were first practice today so i was keen to be first out on the fresh watered track. I enjoyed practice and the track, but was a little concerned that it wasn't very wet. It was good though and the jumps were nice.

Race One
We were first race of the day and i was keen to get a good start as they had watered for us. I started well and was inside the top ten until i was half a lap in and hit a wet spot and almost hit the deck! I managed to stay up but lost valuable places, I continued on and pushed myself but could only manage 16th place at the finish.

Race Two
With more water being put down for our race again, i was hoping for a good start but it never happened. I tangled with another rider on the start straight and was near the back. I started to progress through the pack, the track was a little dusty down the bottom part off the circuit making it a little tricky, but it was still good. I managed to get up to 14th place at the finish.

Race Three
The track was quite dusty now and there was no water this time. I started well and was inside the top ten again. But visabality was poor now and i struggled. I lost quite a few places in the early part of the race. I did start to work my way back through and managed to finish in 12th position.

Overall i finished the day 12th which i was happy with. The meeting was good and the day ran well, it was just a shame the sun dried it out so much. I would also like to wish Jake (crash) Hollis a speedy recovery.

Burntwood at Branston 11/04/10
We all arrived at the Branston circuit Saturday afternoon as we decided to camp this week with the little one. I never went and walked the track as i never had time! i was told it was being run the other way round to usual so that should be interesting!

Practice
We were one off the last practices so for a change we didn't have to mop the slop up off the well watered circuit. The track was good, although i prefer it the other way. The jumps had all been reshaped and the lap times were fast.

Race One
I somehow managed to get second pick off the gate so i went right on the inside. I got a good jump and was in the top five on the first up hill.
The track was still good and i was enjoying myself although i was dropping back! I finished 16th at the end off the race.

Race Two
I managed to get an inside gate again and i was hoping for a repeat of my first race start. I didnt get such a good jump this time but there was a big crash on the first turn and i avoided it so i was just in the top ten.

The track was still good although there was a little dust coming up. I managed to finish 12th at the finish which was an improvement on my first race.

Race Three

This time i was on the inside again but this time i didn't get a good start. So the first lap was dreadful due to the dust but i still enjoyed it and got going a few laps in and managed to finish 15th.

Overall i finished the day 14th which i thought could of been better, but i was happy as i had enjoyed the day.
Newport at Long Lane 28/03/10
I was riding in the 2 stroke qualifiers today and hoping to get through for the 2 stroke championship. After only a short time on the bike after bike problems last week, i had my doubts about my fitness. So we turned up Sunday morning as a family with our new born arrival Bradley. It would be Bradley's first experience of mx at only 3 weeks old!

Practice
I didn't walk the track and instead took a steady ride round in practice. The track was good and they had made a few changes since i last rode there with some new jumps and a new start. I felt comfortable and the bike seemed fine after the repairs.

Race One
I didn't get a great start and was just outside the top 20, but with this being an 18 minute race, i knew there would be time to progress, so i pushed myself a little and started picking riders off. The track was still good and i was enjoying it! I managed to work my way up to 13th by the chequered flag.

Race Two
Not a good start again! I think maybe because I'm a dad now I've got to be safe! But i just got my head down and started charging my way through the pack. The track was still holding up well and i was still enjoying myself. I managed to get up to 11th place at the finish which i was pleased with.

Race Three
Same start again but it was no problem as it was red flagged. Restarted and i was a little further up the pack but it was red flagged again as the gate hadn't dropped properly. Third time lucky and we were away, my start was no better though! The track was now getting quite rough but was still good and again i managed to finish 11th.

Overall not a bad day the track was good and so was the weather. I finished the day 11th overall so a good start to the next round. Oh yeah and Bradley enjoyed it too!
I'm a Daddy
I just thought I would let you all know that my partner Jo gave birth to a healthy boy on Wednesday 10th March at 11.25am, weighing in at 7lbs 9oz.

Bradley Richard Tudor came into the world in just under one and half hours and if that's any indication of things to come, boy is he gonna be fast.

Please check back as I intend to keep racing on a Sunday, although for the next few weeks I may be there in body but not in mind. Gotta go now, I'm knackered.
Polesworth at Stipers Hill 07.03.10
Well the season has been a long time coming this time round. With Hobs Hole cancelled last week i was a little disappointed as Polesworth is a track I'm not too keen on. So the first meeting of the year was a stone filled Polesworth!

We arrived Sunday morning and the ground was very frosty! We were first practise out and i wasn't looking forward to it!

Practice
Practice got underway and i was first off to avoid being stoned to death! The track was very hard due to the frost and was giving my arms a good workout! The track hadn't changed from last season, apart it was a bit rough from the winter meetings that are run there.

Race One
We were first race of the day and we lined up on the start. I didn't get a great start and was just off mid pack. I didn't push to much as the stones were making it rather slippy. I just kept on going and managed to finish 15th.

Race Two
Same sort of start again this time round so i did the same again and just took it steady and tried to enjoy the ride! I managed to progress better this time round and finished 13th.

Race Three
Better start this time and i was in the top five on the first lap. I kept my head down and tried to hold my position, but by this race I was feeling worn out from lack of winter riding! i did enjoy it and manged to finish 9th.

Overall I finished 10th on the day which for the first meeting i was pleased with. The track held up well and was even showing signs off dust! just a shame about the stones.
