2008 ANDY MARCHANT PORTFOLIO
Fully Focussed on 2008
Burton at Stenson 17.08.08
It was the turn of Burton MXC to run their meeting at the Stenson Circuit. With heavy rain showers through the week leading up to the meeting, it was going to be a muddy one!. It was good to see the return of Dale Halls from his Injuries sustained at round 2 of the AMCA Championship. The track looked well prepared with heavy mud in places but, with the sun shining down on us, the track would soon dry out.

Practice
The track hadn't changed from the last meeting but was very tricky and slippery in places so I just looked for lines ready for the racing.

Race One
I got off to a flier and grabbed the hole shot. I pushed hard for a few laps and whilst Halls and Read had their problems, I just continued to push around the circuit and try not to make any mistakes as the track was still a little tricky in places. Burrows was pushing hard behind me but I just kept the gap the same for the rest of the race to take the win.
Race Two
I got off to another good start but was just pipped to the first turn by fellow Foto-x rider Dee Jay but I made a pass quickly on Dee Jay and set to work to gap the rest of the MX2 Experts. I had about a 6 second lead and just set myself into a consistent pace. Halfway through the race I stepped up the pace and increased my lead to about 15 seconds over Halls and Burrows, both of whom were locked in their own battle. With the gap on the field I just continued the pace until the end picking up my second win of the day.

Race Three
With two wins in the bag I just wanted one more to make it a perfect day. I got off to another good start but drifted a little wide in turn one and Burrows slipped on the inside. I put Burrows under pressure straight away but lines on the track were limited for passing so I had to sit back and make a plan. I tried everything I could to try and make a pass on him but nothing was working, he had control of all the inside lines.

I planned a pass on the exit of the chicane section and on the last lap I closed in to make the pass. We both went into the section and he went inside and I powered to the outside, he bobbled and went down and I continued to take the win.

What can I say three wins and another 1st overall a PERFECT DAY!. Thanks to everyone for being behind me and the Marchantmx team, I hope I can continue with the results I deserve.
New Graphics
This is the Marchantmx race machine that I will be racing in all the AMCA Championship. With a touch of gun metal grey and gold to the wheels, SXS suspension, some tweeks to the motor and with it's white plastics and some new graphics tailor made to advertise the companies helping the team this year, the bike looks and feels awesome!

This year I have managed to get a few companies interested in supporting me and the team. So with the bike looking good in the paddock, it is just down to me to continue with my current racing form and hopefully 2008 will be successful for everyone.

As you can see there are quite a few companies that help me and the team, so I try to do everything I can to advertise and promote these companies. So if you would like to help us out for the 2009 season please contact me by EMAIL by clicking the link at the top of page.
