Burton at Stenson 26th July 2010
It was a trip up the A38 to Stenson where the Burton Motocross Club was hosting this weeks racing. We arrived so I went to have a look at the circuit as people had said that changes had been made, at the same time, still trying to get my head around the meeting having a round of the AMCA Sidecar Championship. it is really hard for a solo to pass each other around the circuit so It would take a lot of balls and determination for them to get past but the track looked ok and water had been put down ready for practice. I decided to double enter into the MX2 races as the race lengths were being cut down as the first aid cover was delayed, which intefered with the start of the meeting.

Practice
Eventually the First Aid arrived and I got on to the circuit but on lap two my chain on my bike broke causing me to miss the rest of the session but my opinion of the track up to that point was it didn't quite flow and passing was made even harder due to the changes, but I felt I had the speed to try and make it a good day.

Race One
I got a great jump out of the gate but then Cannings came across running into me but I gave him the elbow and forced him away but I got to the first turn in first but then the my unlucky streak continued and I lost the rear end of the bike causing me to go down. I was hit a few times but I quickly got on my feet and re-mounted. I pushed hard to catch and pass the riders in front of me and managed to pull back inside the top ten but with a rider falling straight in front of me, I had to re-mount the Marchantmx Honda and continued on but with the race only being 10 minutes long, it stopped my gallop and I had to settle for 8th position.

Race Two
With me racing in the MX2 race in between my races, I had a little bit of an advantage of the way lines had developed and I got another good start in 3rd position behind Bass and Nessam. I was struggling to find a way past the guys in front as they where banging bar in every corner, so I sat behind them but Cannings was on my rear wheel and made a pass stick on me. I managed to get passed Bass but Nessam and Cannings had gaped me so I pushed hard to close in on them but by the last lap, I was right on Nessam but a backmarkers spoiled a pass and I finally finished in 3rd position.

Race Three
I again got a good start but i was a bit to conservative around the first turn and I lost a place moving me down to 3rd position but not wanting a repeat of the second race, I quickly made a pass on Bass and moved me behind Cannings. I pushed hard for the race keeping Cannings in my sights and pulling away from Bass. I finally finished the race in 2nd position. I had finished 3rd overall on the day due to my bad first race but I have got a lot of positives and my riding is starting to speed up which is something I have been working hard to change over the last few months, so I will continue with the programme I have set myself and hopefully I can get back to my old self. Thank you to everyone backing me and the team for the 2010 season.
Wolves at Hungry Hill 18th July 2010
It has been a rough couple of weeks for me, I picked up another injury to my elbow in the first race of the Wolverhampton AMCA Championship Round so I decided to take a week off to let it recover. It was then a trip to Shobdon, Herefordshire for another round of the AMCA Championship, the day didn't quite go to plan and ended the day in 19th overall.

This weekend was my home club meeting at Hungry Hill. The rain leading up to the meeting helped with the track conditions and a little watering at the start of the meeting, made for another great day of racing for everyone.

Race One
I got tangled up and was nearly last by the time I got to the first turn but by the first lap, I had moved into 11th position. I pushed hard through the rest of the race but by the time I had moved into 6th position, there was a big gap between me and the 5th placed rider. I continued to close in on the pack in front but just ran out of time and had to settle for 6th position.

Race Two
I got off to a good start and was in 4th position. I made a pass on Jack Bas for 3rd position but I lost my front end of the bike and went down taking Jack with me. I quickly re-mounted and started to push my way back through the pack but again I lost my front end and had to re-mount, so I pulled in to see my dad to check out if everything was ok. I continued to ride hard through the rest of the race but could only manage 14th position.

Race Three
I got off to another bad start as my gate didn't drop properly so I had to push hard to make up the places but on lap three my front tyre was going flat so I just had to ride conservative to end the race in 6th position.

The day overall wasn't great and ended 9th overall. I had pushed hard all day but just had to deal with some situations but I showed some good speed and fitness so hopefully I can keep my head down and keep on generating more speed through the next few weeks.

Thank you to everyone supporting me and the MarchantMx team through the 2010 season.
