The beginning....
I started my racing career back in 1990 at the age of nine.  Through my hard years of racing, I have been able to ride against some of the top riders in the world and this has given me a wealth of experience, lots of good memories and countless friends.  This could not have happened without the ongoing help and support of my Mom and Dad who have made lots of sacrifices over the years to fund my racing.

My Dad was a big inspiration as looking at old photos of him riding (below) urged me to take up the sport.  He was a top 750 Senior but never made it to the Experts due to financial and work commitments.  Knowing this has always given me the drive to do well, as I know my parents would back me 100%.  As long as I put 100% in, even when luck is against you, at least you can always say you tried.
At the age of nine I started out at ACU and BSMA Club Level.  Within five years I was racing in the British Schoolboy Nationals against the best in the Country (Stephen Sword, Carl Nunn, James Noble, Glen Phillips and Charlie Hollis to name but a few). As you can see by the calibre of riders, it was always going to be hard but I stuck at it and gave my best week in week out, always finishing inside of the top fifteen.

I then progressed to the ACU British Championships, which was probably some of the toughest years of racing I have encountered.  To say it was like climbing Mount Everest would be an understatement.  I can hold my head up high and say that I did my very best, qualifying against top world championship riders such as Stefan Everts, Mike Brown, and Jamie Dobb and predecessors from schoolboy days.  Not having the same support and backing as these riders however, and having to get up to go to my day job all week, was always going to be an uphill struggle.

Finally in 2005 I decided to jump ship and join the AMCA to try and regain my confidence and start to enjoy racing again.  It was a good move. I became the Border Group Champion, which gave me a place in the 125 Championships for 2006.  With high hopes for the Championships, lady luck just wasn’t on my side and I finished in 19th place.

Which brings us to now.  Bike problems plagued me at the beginning of the 2007 season but in the last few months I have seen an improvements in my results, confidence is returning and I have high hopes for the rest of the Championships.  One of the biggest factors has been the support from Wayne and family at FeehilyMX, who first started supporting me in 2004, the support from my family and Becki, my fiancée, unwavering as ever.
