Midland Social at Bromsberrow

Midland Social managed somehow to host the final round of the AMCA Sidecar Championship on Sunday at a totally unprepared Bromsberrow track. A big entry soon evaporated as riders left without getting their bikes out...Full report & pics

Putoline XC Championship Grand Final

The survivors of the final round of the Putoline XC Championship all knew they had accomplished the near impossible by finishing a tough race in the worst possible conditions and anyone who did finish took away a real sense of pride and achievement. It was, without doubt, the toughest of the Putoline XC series and quite a mountain to climb at the end of a long season and credit must go to Paul Edmondson and his team for getting everyone through the race injury free.

Veterans Championship

Cannock at Abbotts Bromley

Watching the Veterans Championship at Abbotts Bromley on Sunday confirmed that things do get better with age. The old blokes put on a tremendous show in fantastic late Summer weather to wow the crowds. Reports & Pics.

Polesworth

The fourth and final round of the superb GBXC series ran at Ashby de la Zouch over the weekend. A huge entry on this virgin course saw Paul Edmondson take the top Pro spot with Darryl Bolter and Si Wakeley in hot pursuit. Report and Pics. Galleries

Wolves at Hungry Hill

MX1 IMBA at Branston

Kent, the Garden of England, experienced some fantastic XC racing over the weekend as the Putoline XC Championship ran at Chattenden near Chatham. Local Power Station protesters provided an evening of fun, the Police put on a helicopter display and the Army an interesting dog display but nothing could overshadow the racing at this great venue. First time at Uptons Longdon track for the sidecars and very impressed they were too. Bradford and James won overall but it was far from a clean sweep as France and Machin made them work hard for the win.

Upton MXC put on a terrific show at their Longdon track on Saturday , which was prepared to perfection and, amazingly, got dusty during the second block of racing despite nearly a week of solid rain. South Staffs Group Championship

South Staffs Group Championship winners received their trophies last weekend at Wolves meeting at Hungry Hill. Foto-x's own Tim Tighe presented the trophies to the worthy winners both young and old (Andy Manley) and it was good to see riders from all clubs picking up one of the many impressive pots. West Midlands Group Championship

The West Midlands Group Championship Presentation took place at Sedgley MCC’s meeting on Sunday at All Setts Farm, Worcester. West Midlands Group Co-ordinator Malcolm Brettle was on hand to present the trophies for the Championship, which took place during the month of April.

The biggest fixture of the year in the AMCA calendar saw Wolverhampton DAC all set to provide a spectacular and memorable event for the GB Sidecar IMBA round and the opening round of both the MX1 and MX2 Championship. Sunday

Talk about a game of two halves! Sunday saw torrential and constant rain from 7.00am onwards. The track held up initially but gradually became impassible as the Championship races were cut to two for each catergory and the IMBA was cancelled after one race. Sunday report. Galleries.

Shobdon at Downwood Farm

A full house at Shobdons Downwood Farm track witnessed the return of ex-Champion Gary Davies (73 above), who "Hadn't been on a bike for nearly four years!" Yeah, Right! He won the MX1 Experts. Loads of crashes around the improved Shobdon track left the club with a little thinking to do. A great meeting all the same. Full report and pics. Galleries.

Midland Social at Airfield Farm

A snow covered Airfield Farm left the AMCA Sidecar Championship in disarray as, controversially,the status of the event was changed to a normal club meeting at the start of the day. Uproar and discontent amongst the majority of outfit riders who were there, leaving a few questions to be asked. The meeting really suffered in the tough weather conditions as barely a handful of riders took to the line for each race. Full report and pics.
