NEXT MEETING AT ABBOTS BROMLEY SUNDAY 11TH MAY 2008
Hawkstone Park 05.05.08
On Monday May 5th 2008, the South Staffs group rode at one of the UK ’s all time greats HAWKSTONE PARK !!!
The day ran pretty well, apart from a few red flags and a few problems with the start gate, but most off all I think everybody enjoyed their experience there and even though the Junior riders couldn’t go up the big Hawkstone Hill, it was still an achievement to get round in one piece.

The MX1 Experts began the day with veteran Andrew Manley scoring 7th place in his first race and a great 4th place in the second race of the day taking home 12 points.

The MX1 Juniors were second race of the day with Jay Rumbold taking 2nd place in the first race and Matt Davis in 6th, taking home another 5 points. Jay Rumbold then went on to take the win in the second race and a 4th in the final race of the day, a grand total of 35 points, 1st overall and his last race in the MX1 juniors.
The third race of the day was the MX2 Experts with Dale Halls taking the first and second race wins. DJ Llewellyn got an 8th place in his first race in the Experts. Dale and DJ both failed to score in the last race, which left Halls joint 3rd overall, but missing on the trophy as he didn’t score in the final race. Aaron Paskin also had his first race in the Experts and managed to score in the final race earning himself 6 points coming home in 5th place.

The fifth race of the day was the MX1 seniors. Lewis Hinks took the first race win and a second place in the second race, but failed to score in the final outing leaving him with 3rd overall and 27 points.

MX2 juniors were out for the sixth race of the day with Sam Bailey the highest scorer in the first race, taking 2nd place and 12 points, Josh Hickinbottom took 8th and Anthony Shepherd had a great ride to round off the top 10 with 1 point. Josh Hickinbottom was then the highest scorer in the second race with a 6th place and 5 points. James Bott wasn’t far behind him in 8th taking home 3 points. Josh was once again the higest scorer in the final race taking 4th place and another 8 points, whilist Sam Bailey managed 6th and another 5 points taking 3rd overall.

The final race of the day was the MX2 Seniors, Dan Frisby scored 4 points with a 7th place in the first race and Adam Llewellyn scored 2 points in 9th place in the first race.

Well done to all those in the club for getting around the track and also for those who contributed to the day being run so well !!!
