AMCA MX1 Championship Shobdon at Downwood Farm

Hi All,
The weekend saw the latest round of the championship roll into Shobdon for a weekend of thrills and spills.
The track was prepared to perfection as timed training and qualification got under way,
we have 10 minutes free practice followed by 20 minutes timed training. After the timed session I was 5th fastest and just under a second separated the top 5, so I was feeling good for the day ahead.
Race One
As the gate dropped for moto 1, I was in around 6th position and to be honest I had some work to do as the front few riders had put some fast laps in at the start of the race. I set about reeling those riders in, concentrating on being smooth and flowing now enhanced by my new power balance band i clawed myself into 3rd position at the finish flag.
Race Two
Once again my start wasn't brilliant and I found myself battling through to the front of the race, I was caught in a race long battle with Rich Cannings, I passed him, he passed me, we got really aggressive but fair. Cannings just got the better of me in this race and I crossed the line in 4th position.

Race Three
A better start in this race made my life a bit easier as I was away at the front from the off, myself, Lee Payne, Ben Saunders and Cannings locked horns for a great 20 minute battle, as the flag waved it was Payne, Cannings, Myself and Saunders.
Overall on the day 4th, all though I missed out on the podium this week, I'm 100% happy with my riding, my speed my fitness etc. This week I challenged for positions, I was back to my aggressive self and hungry for victory.
A massive thank you to Steve for keeping the bike in tip top condition, and to all the team for doing there bit. An added bonus for me now is that as from last wednesday I've been wearing a power balance band, I can honestly say that it improves my overall riding performance, thanks Mark.
Also a massive thank you to each and every one of you guys reading this as I couldn't do it without you, thank you.
The next big race on my calender is the IMBA European championship, it's the UK round of the series and I hope to see some of you there.
